May band camp

Date: 21 May 2021 Date: 22 May 2021 Date: 23 May 2021

The Guitar Social has been all over the world, from the Jungles of Cambodia to the dive bars of Berlin, but no retreat is adored quite as much as this humble weekender in a countryside paradise in Kent.

The weekend
Our location is a hidden jewel in the rolling hills of Kent. Spread across a woodland, a meadow and open fields and with luxury toilet and washing facilities, the site has quickly become a home away from home in the summer months for the guitar social. Thomas (writing this himself in third person to seem more professional) and Fiona-business manager of The Guitar Social, were there four times in 2020 and the site owners have become quick friends of The Guitar Social, going above and beyond to support out unusual needs; their young daughter even gave the September 2020 group a moonlit tarot card reading!
Food is prepared in teams and the servings are generous. There’s a bottomless bar and a never ending wood supply to keep the fires burning.
The days are spent in idle conversation, playing guitar and in preparation for the evenings jam where we play together and sit in silence, eyes on the fire, as some people play songs on their own.
It is a magical weekend. We did our first one in 2015 and we still have the same people from that first band camp turning up every year.

From the Guitar Social Community

The class is run by a group who really understand the principles of learning and the reasons for doing it! Also we are given sensible and realistic targets and outcomes coupled with very helpful practice schedules.

Thanks to The Guitar Social , I am living my dream after years of longing to play the guitar but feeling too scared to go for it. I am loving it. The classes are so enjoyable.
Beverley, Birmingham
The Guitar Social is unique, vibrant, edgy, always fun and uplifting. Where else could I get top quality guitar teaching alongside a jam in the park, fun Zoom guitar based games or an inspiring and sociable camping trip.
Helen, Devon
The lessons are great fun, the resources are excellent and I’m learning more than ever before. On top of that, there are loads of opportunities to get together and play with other students. Best guitar lessons I’ve ever had.
